About Us
Welcome to Merino 365, a boutique merino brand based in Ramarama, New Zealand. Our journey began with Lucy and Francis, two lifelong snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts with a passion for creating functional clothing that stands up to all the elements.
Our Story
We have always loved making clothes and are obsessed with functional fabrics that help brave all the elements. Over the years, we've found ourselves living in merino wool, wearing it pretty much every day of the year, which inspired the name Merino 365.
Lucy and Fran met in the USA and have been making clothes together for well over 20 years. As the founders of New Zealand's only cool merino kids' brand, Little Flock of Horrors, our imprint can be found all over kids and babies around New Zealand. Our loyal customers often asked us to create adult versions of our beloved kids' clothes, leading to the creation of Merino 365.

Our Philosophy
One of our core philosophies is to leave the planet better than we found it. Whether snowboarding, camping, or trekking, we strive to leave as small a trace as possible. This commitment to sustainability is reflected in our choice of materials and manufacturing processes.
Quality and Sustainability
We use 100% merino wool from New Zealand, sourced only from suppliers that adhere to anti-mulesing practices. Our focus is on producing the best merino basics in limited runs, ensuring quality and exclusivity.
Our Journey
Merino 365 has been selling merino clothing in the USA since 2016, with tens of thousands of happy customers. We are thrilled to finally bring Merino 365 to New Zealand, responding to the demand from our Little Flock of Horrors customers for adult-sized merino clothing. While Merino 365 focuses on creating the best merino basics, we share many of the same high-quality fabrics, ensuring our commitment to excellence.
From the Mountains to Your Wardrobe
Fran grew up in Vermont, just seven miles from Jay Peak ski resort. He spent every available moment on the mountain, through fall, winter, and spring. Having functional fabrics to keep warm on a Vermont mountain in winter is crucial. "We didn’t know about merino back then, so we used polypro from Army-Navy surplus stores and later discovered wool. When snowboard brands started making polyester baselayers, they were better than cotton but still sub-par. When I found merino years later and discovered it was a 'Super-wool,' I was immediately hooked."
Customer Satisfaction
Our Men's and Women's OG tops have sold thousands of units, boasting an average rating of 4.6 stars. We value all feedback and continuously strive to improve our products.
Looking Ahead
Our goal is to continue offering short runs of high-quality merino basics, ensuring each piece meets our rigorous standards. We are committed to sustainability and quality, bringing you the best in merino clothing.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We hope you love our merino basics as much as we do.
